SSR run several open evenings at their facility during the year and Wigwam staff have participated in the sessions to promote both the Scholarship, the training course and the Wigwam Work Placement Scheme.
Over the past year we have seen that the people we spend the most time with are parents and guardians wanting to know more about the industry and to put their minds at rest that this is an industry that has proper career paths and employment.
We have had some very positive feedback from parents from the discussions we have had and we feel that we should try to further our involvement in this area by starting a facility for parents and students to visit the Wigwam headquarters and take a look round to see for themselves what companies in our industry are about.
We aim to make this website as informative as possible in order to put your mind at ease and answer any questions you may have. One of the best ways to get an idea of what the Scholarship entails and of the impact the Placement scheme has on it's benefactors is to read about our Scholars, past and present and also the people who have completed Work Placements, who all now have jobs within the industry.
Ian Hu the schools principal is the contact for the visits, as we have to arrange these to be at times that are suitable for all parties.
