2009 Guest Lectures At SSR

A number of guest lectures are being finalised for the next few months at SSR for the Live Sound Course.

January saw a lecture from Katie Walker Wigwams RF Specialist on basic RF practices, programming and licensing followed by use of radio equipment in Theatre sound design by Emma Connelly.

A number of guest lectures by industry leaders are being planned including Steve Levitt one of the leading production managers in Europe giving a valuable insight into concert production.

Steve is production manager for many top acts and events including; 

Isle of Wight Festival

Lemar

Westlife

X-Factor

Ronan Keating

Princes Trust events

As part of the scholarship programme we have had visits to the college by a host of top names in the audio world to see what we are up to and we have interviewed most of these icons for their views of the industry and educational matters.

These interviews are available on the live course for students to gain invaluable knowledge from the best in the industry.

A short list of participants include;

Gary Bradshaw FOH Engineer for Take That, George Michael, Annie Lennox and Simply Red.

Ray Furze FOH Engineer for The Spice Girls, The Pixies, Beautiful South and Richard Ashcroft.

Rob Lingfield Director of Martin Audio and Chairman of Plasa.

Dick Rabel, Owner of Tour Tech Ltd, FOH engineer for Tina Turner and Catherine Jenkins.
